VFLA provided architectural services to The Town of Lyons to redesign the structures for the flood-damaged Meadow Park. The park is nestled up against a red stone bluff and the North St. Vrain Creek. The flood decimated the structures in the park and didn’t leave much in its wake.
VFLA designed and renovated a total of five structures. The designs included a new restroom building, new picnic shelter, new concessions stand, as well as the renovation of the existing restroom building and WPA fireplace. VFLA worked closely with the Town of Lyons’ city officials, boards, and citizens to design park structures that enhanced the park and community where they received valuable opinions from local citizens regarding the style of structures they want in their town. The goal of the project was to create a community space that the locals would be proud of.
