A Residence with a Scandinavian-inspired Design
Nestled in a heavily wooded property, this residence was designed to preserve as many trees as possible; the floor plan was meticulously crafted around the best trees on the site. The old stone perimeter wall was also preserved, setting the stage for a private courtyard and creating an intimate, yet open living experience.
The home’s form is characterized by clean lines and repeating Scandinavian arch roof forms that add sophistication to the overall design. The materials used for the exterior create a striking contrast that is both warm and bright: a light cream-colored ledgestone veneer, white stucco, horizontal hemlock shiplap wood siding, black standing seam metal roofing, and black windows.
The interior spaces were designed to blend our client’s modern and transitional styles while exuding warmth and a strong attention to detail. A timber pergola structure defines a patio space outside the master suite, allowing natural light to filter into the bedroom. Stone features are incorporated throughout the interior and exterior of the home, with brass accents add a touch of elegance.
