Chris Aronson sees architectural models as “a great way to express our ideas to clients,” helping them visualize the wonderful projects they can create together.
A University of Southern California graduate, Aronson founded Floh Design Group in Fort Collins in 2009, then joined Vaught Frye Larson Architects in 2011 as a project manager. He was promoted to principal architect three years later. On his watch over the past four years, the firm’s staff has grown by 180 percent and its revenue by 145 percent. The success culminated in its being named 2017 Small Business of the Year by the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce
“Chris’s ability to strategically think outside the box and bring forward creative solutions is paramount to everything we do,” said Steve Schroyer, director of real estate at Blue Ocean Enterprises. “Chris can understand the project as a whole, and creatively align the design process to fit each and every need of that particular development.”
Part of Aronson’s creativity is the ability to use architecture as a way to give back to the community, helping enhance nonprofit properties such as Elderhaus Day Program and the Gardens at Spring Creek through VFLA’s membership in United Way’s Business Cares program. He promoted the donation of more than $37,000 worth of design services to the new Animal House campus.
Aronson also serves on the board of Fort Collins’ Downtown Development Authority and its landmark-preservation subcommittee. “This is a tremendous honor to use my architectural background to enhance discussions surrounding development,” he said.
