Located on the fringe of the Fort Collins River District, The Union, is not just a successful restaurant, but an urban connection from Old Town to the River District. It’s situated on a typically undesirable site located between an active rail line and a state highway, our clients saw the location’s potential. The building is nestled between existing mature trees with a large 200 person patio that activates the primary corner. The inspiration for the building was drawn from the history of the railroad and the adjacent historic Union Pacific building to the west. The long building form harkens back to old train depots and the window pattern gives a nod to the historic buildings across the street from the site.
