The Modern Residential Oasis

The client’s goals for this project were to increase their view toward the mountains, update the floor plan for modern living, and integrate the home with the landscape. The existing home we removed but the floor plate and foundation remain. The new floor plan adds a walk-in pantry extension to the kitchen, a secluded office with a private meditation room with a viewing window aimed at the homeowner’s favorite natural rock feature on the property, and outdoor access from every bedroom. The modern exterior design balances durable stone, stucco, and steel materials with rich warm-stained smooth cedar siding. An attached garage and a few new bump-outs were added to the footprint of the original home to create various outdoor living areas around the home. One of the outdoor features is a growing garden complete with 3 sheds for potting, tool storage and an exercise room. The back deck provides a perch for a view of the sunsets.
